Create apps, upload builds and manage beta testing from your terminal. Prepare the store listing, submit for review and publish in the developer portal.

Install

Requires Node.js 20.17+ on Node 20, 22.13+ on Node 22, or 23.5+. The npm package includes the compiled CLI and WebAssembly packer.

bash
npm install -g @evenrealities/evenhub-cli
evenhub --version

eh is a shorter alias for evenhub. Both run the same commands.

For a project-local installation, use npm install -D @evenrealities/evenhub-cli and run commands with npx evenhub.

What runs where

CLI

  • Create apps and edit draft listings
  • Pack, upload and manage builds
  • Manage beta builds and testers
  • Check builds and review status

Developer portal

  • Draw icons and add store artwork
  • Add listing details and privacy policy
  • Submit for review and publish
  • Update approved or published listings

The portal also supports app, build and tester management. Public publishing requires review; the CLI can remove a build from either the beta or public channel with delist.

Create your first app

Start in an existing app project with a build script. Your First App covers project setup; Project covers local QR testing.

1. Sign in and prepare the manifest

bash
evenhub login
evenhub init

Sign in interactively with your Even Realities account. Run init only if the project does not already have an app.json, then set its package ID, version and SDK requirement.

2. Build, pack and create

bash
npm run build
evenhub pack app.json dist -o my-app.ehpk
evenhub create my-app.ehpk --name "My App" --tagline "One line about it"

create registers the app and uploads its first build. This example uses a placeholder icon; supply --icon icon.png for a finished 24×24 icon.

The owner can install this private build from Me → Apps → Private builds in the Even Realities app. Private testing covers that path.

Share a beta build

A beta install needs both a build on the beta channel and an Active tester membership. Once the app exists, either path can be completed first.

Build

  1. Create or upload a build
  2. promote --to beta
  3. Build on beta

Tester

  1. testers add
  2. Accept the email invitation
  3. Active membership
Install the beta buildBoth conditions must be met.Even Realities app · Me → Beta tester

Use the version from app.json in place of 1.0.0, and the tester's Even Realities account email:

bash
evenhub promote 1.0.0 --to beta
evenhub testers add tester@example.com

The tester accepts the invitation email. Check both conditions before asking them to install:

bash
evenhub ls com.example.myapp
evenhub testers

Replace com.example.myapp with your package ID. Confirm the build's CHANNEL includes beta and the tester's status is Active. See Testers if either is missing.

Upload the next version

Update version in app.json, build again, then upload. Use the new version in promote:

bash
npm run build
evenhub pack app.json dist -o my-app.ehpk
evenhub upload my-app.ehpk -m "Describe what changed"
evenhub promote 1.0.1 --to beta

Existing Active testers keep their membership. When the app is ready for the store, follow App Submission & QA Guidelines in the portal.
